On Saturday, December 16, 2006 PRCSC collaborated with restaurant chain Panda Express and the communities of Orocovis and Cataño to create an unforgettable holiday celebration. Nearly 300 children from the ages of 6-12 enjoyed a fun-filled day that began when the bus load of children from Cataño arrived and were greeted by the youth of Orocovis. Following a morning snack and a rotation through 10 activity stations, lunch was prepared by Panda Express staff, who provided an endless supply of delectable chinese food. Afternoon entertainment consisted of a quartet concert by the Orocovis Quartet Club as well as a memorable performance by the Cistercian Nuns of Orocovis and other community volunteers as they potrayed the spirit of Christmas through brief skits and stylized dances. The day was concluded on a high note thanks to the efforts of the local Girl Scout troupe which orchestrated a gift drive and distributed a mountain of toys to the delight of all the children.
